We all agree the N900 is "tablet first. phone second". Most tablets allow aphanumeric logon but the N900 does not (maybe I just dont know how to go about activating this feature). Does the N900 allow you to log on using alphanymeric keys? Also, is it possible to logon using the keypad rather than the touchscreen numeric keys?

What is "Log on"? Do you talk about the Device Lock? Or the SIM card lock?

probably both, anyway I have the same wish for both screens.

I hate that the keys I type go blue and the number typed shows on the screen. I might as well tell everybody my password. Keyboard input (and no more showing the password characters on the screen when they're typed) would solve that.

SIM lock is tied to the SIM card and only supports numbers (since it must wrk in all phones), so that's not something Nokia can fix.

The keyboard should still be considered as a valid input for this code, even though it's only numbers.

That's a valid point, yes.

This is exactly my concern. It could be solved by allowing keyboard input.
