I wish to use 2 Skype accounts - one for work, and one for friends outside work.

The reason is because I sometimes don't want to be online to work colleagues usually when I'm not at work, and I sometimes don't want to be online to friends when I am busy with work.

Skype doesn't provide any way to have different status for different groups of people, or at least I didn't find one, so the solution is two accounts. Some of my work colleagues do the same.

(I also use separate accounts for work and friends with MSN and Yahoo, but I'm not using those on the N900 yet. It seems to be a common strategy among some people I work with.)

Unfortunately when I attempt to connect to a second Skype account, the N900 says "Only one Skype account can be active. Do you want to disable account xxxx".

Wtf? Is there a reason for this?

Does anyone know how to get past this seemingly arbitrary obstacle? All I want is to be online to friends and colleagues simultaneously from time to time... seems like not a lot to ask.

Do the MSN, Yahoo and Jabber backends have the same limitation?

Thanks for any good advice
