hi guyes, i am in australia, brought a n900 from usa, the phone was dead after 4 hours, stop on the second dot from left and, just cant boot. it's been restarted by itself fewtimes before dead.

i tried to flash it by myselft and followed some guide but the pc just cant find the driver, hold the u from keypad and the little connection shows up on the right corner of the sceen. tried nsu , doesnt work as well.

send back to usa will be my last choice as it will cost a lot so just wondering if anyone can help me fix it myself.

i didnt install any third party, it's a common issue for n900 or i am just the unluck guy? if i replacement and upgrade before dead, will that happen again??

thanks very much~~~~~~~~~~~

Ok. try this:

1. Close any nokia application or antivir running from your system tray (just in case okey!)

DON'T USE ANY USB HUB.

2. Reflash the eMMC
2.1. copy the file to the flasher folder
2.2. turn off your phone
2.3. go to command prompt (CMD) and go to flasher folder
2.4. run this:
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R
2.5. Hold u key on your phone while you connect it to the PC via USB, dont release it until you see data uploading to the phone.
2.6. Disconnect the USB ONLY when u see the orange flashlight mode going on. (dont be hurry okey)

Don't turn ur phone on.

3. Reflash the OS
3.1. with the phone turned off
3.2. go to command prompt (CMD) and go to flahser folder
3.3. run this:
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_2.2009.51-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R
3.4. Hold u key on your phone while you connect it to the PC via USB, dont release it until you see data uploading to the phone.
3.5. Disconnect the USB when you see the phone has started by itself

The reflash is completed.

But. at this point you must turn off your phone and turn it on again.

That is my way after reading the whole process. hope it helps.

You don't need to reflash! The second dot error is a known bug that is fixed in the latest update (hopefully). See this for a workaround to reflashing:
