To enter a long number - do we have to press -shift- with one finger, and all the numbers with the other one??
Coming onto Apps.... I havent played with the home screens yet... But i wanted to add a shortcut to the home screen to turn bluetooth on/off quickly. Couldnt find it in the shortcut menu.. Is it anywhere??
Email: SImple to use.... but one thing : Does it have to sync ALL UR EMAILS??? and then mark them all as NEW?? it currently says I have 850 new messagesThe one and only thing Blackberry are good at... and they suk at everything else...
I installed aMSN - it allows me to send my webcam, but the other party can only see a blank screen
also it lags a bit tbh..
EDIT: The earphones are horrible.. they keep falling off all the time, and also they sound a bit weird.. is it just me???

Double-press the Fn key and it will enter into Fn Lock mode so you can type all the `blue` characters without pressing anything. Press again to return into normal mode. Same goes for Shift - double-press to enter Caps Lock mode...
No, it doesn't, unless you are using POP3. Use IMAP or MfE servers if available.

well I got it yesterday, played with it a little, so I cant give a detailed review. Its just things I have used and tested.. there are some things I might be wrong, please correct me if thats the case because im no genuis
My previous phone was a HTC Touch HD , then I used a Blackberry Storm 2 for about 1 month, and couldnt take it anymore
Things that could be improved...
Battery cover - I was scared i might break it...
Stylus - My HTC stylus had a sort of magnet, which pulls the stylus in when i am keeping it in. Would have been nice to at least have one which shines or something better than plastic... (personal choice)
There wasted space on every side of the screen - This phone could have been a bigger Hit with a screen a bit bigger (seeing there is space on every side)
There is a raised border around the screen - difficult to wipe dust off.....
Charger / usb port - Its damn hard to get the charger in and out...
Keyboard - I think we could do with one more row of numbers separately.. But its yet much better than on-screen ones.. Initially i thought they were a waste of space, but now I know the difference. . To enter a long number - do we have to press -shift- with one finger, and all the numbers with the other one??
one disadvantage of keyboard- inability to map a string of characters in a key.. let me explain more- in my HD, I could use a button and map my email address to it. like u use SHIFT + A to get * ... I could remove * and put my whole email... but again, we get the flexibility of the hardware keys....
As a whole, I prefer this one over on-screen ones....
I think The N900 is really easy to hold... 2 fingers behind the screen, and 2 fingers to type.... theres NO WAY its gonna fall... Unless someone is holding it loose.. the material also is not slippery...My HTC would slip from anywhere... even the blackberry...
Coming onto Apps.... I havent played with the home screens yet... But i wanted to add a shortcut to the home screen to turn bluetooth on/off quickly. Couldnt find it in the shortcut menu.. Is it anywhere??
Web - keeps disconnecting after some time.. i have had to switch to my 3g data and wifi from time to time... even had to restart twice because it wouldnt connect... BUT i think THINK its not happening after the software update... But other than that, it loads quite quickly and FLASHHHHHHHH FINALLY......... PHEWWWW ..
Media player - its awesome
COntacts - I had some trouble connecting to google to sync my contacts.. I had to export my contacts from google to my pc, then import it to outlook, then sync outlook to my phone... Probably the longer way, but oh well, it worked...
Maps - It took me a while to figure out how to add a destination... I had to click on the small + sign on the right.. lol.... it got me everywhere straight away ( I used it today for some deliveries - and it did not lose signal once)
Camera: its Nokia.. Its got Carl Zeiss.. Its 5MP... Needless to say any more... I know what its like on the N95, so I guess its still awesome..
Those who have owned HTC: they know the agony of having a camera....
Email: SImple to use.... but one thing : Does it have to sync ALL UR EMAILS??? and then mark them all as NEW?? it currently says I have 850 new messages
Conversations: Way better than any phone... specially WIndows mobile.. or HTC's own messaging app - which everyone avoids on WM6.5
Games: I only played bounce 3D - Its got dedicated graphics processor .. im really pleased with the graphics... I did not try playing it when I have other apps open
I installed aMSN - it allows me to send my webcam, but the other party can only see a blank screen
also it lags a bit tbh..
Firefox - awesome... AWESOME
Battery life: I charged it this morning: did about 20 mins bluetooth audio streaming, 2 phone calls totalling 15 mins max, installed amsn, played with it for 10 mins.. used gps constantly for 3.5 hours, changing destinations every 15/20 mins.. and urmmm, thats all I think.. Its past midnight, and the battery is nearly dead... I did not charge it while navigating...
Phone - Would b nice to have call / endcall / menu / back softkey in that blank space on the right.... at least it would serve for something...
Overall, I am really pleased with the phone - It mite b a bit bulky for some, but I prefer it to b that way, rather than be 11mm thick and slip off ur hands all the time...
phewww that was quite long
Thanks for reading....
EDIT: The earphones are horrible.. they keep falling off all the time, and also they sound a bit weird.. is it just me???
