hi i just updated my n900 and wanted to install applications with xterminal i have roothash installed.
i just know how write sudo gainroot and dont know after that can you help me step by step to install programs with xterminal.
or even better can you post a video thanks.

Any apps that are not packaged specifically for the N900 won't be optified so will soon burn through your rootfs space. You'd be better off installing the debian chroot and installing apps within that.

i have installed debian chroot but dont know how to use it its confusing

I want to install claw-mail so i can use pgp.. any help please? i have not actually run any make installs before????

claws mail is in extras-devel, and looks like it has the PGP plugin stuff?

The claws-mail and pgp plugin packages are in the extras-devel repository. Add the repository (if you're prepared to deal with the risks), then download and install them through App Manager.

How far have you got? Did you download the image file?
