Are ygetting a specific message from Pidgin? The MSN servers sometime have a hissy fit even with their own client too so it might be a temporary thing too.

Using the built-in apps: do you mean conversations? If so then which plug-in did you install to get MSN working?

The reason for asking for specifics is that people need to know how you are trying to connect so we can help you out.

Give some more information. What connection are you using for example?

sorry about being so vague, have managed to sign in going through conversations however is there a way of importing my contacts? so i dont have to have everyone on msn in my phonebook? and i would of thought there would of been a specific app for msn messenger that works just like it does on desktops

in phonebook you have the possibility to look at just msn people or just gtalk people and so on. I personally love having all my contacts in the contact book, as there is the possibility to merge msn contacts in to normal phone contacts and so on.

I'm not sure if you can limit only showing people with phone numbers in contacts

The N900 is only providing a view on your current MSN account so yout be careful NOT to delete a contact from your addressbook whilst connected to MSN or it will delete from your MSN account. If you remove the account from your phone too then the corresponding entries disappear from your phonebook too. You can also use the merge functionality in the phonebook app to consolidate the MSN contacts with existing ones in your phonebook.
