Hi all, first post

I just recieved yesterday my new N900 and I installed a some software. After istalling recaller (http://maemo.org/downloads/product/Maemo5/recaller/), my bluetooth earpiece automatically disconnected, so I uninstalled recaller and the earpiece connected again, just this time, all audio is going through the earpiece, including the calling tone and media player...

Any idea how to solve this?
Certainly starting to feel it's a Linux :-)

I'm still not root but I noticed the class for the earpiece is defined to be 0x240404 at /var/lib/bluetooth/..../classes

Is that right?

The recaller installation itself shouldn't do anything at all to an existing connection. From a technical viewpoint, interaction is "impossible" :-)
The only limitation that I'm aware off is that recaller currently does not properly record bluetooth calls, as they use a different audiodevice. However, I'm working on that and the next release (end of month?) might then fully support BT.

It might be that Bluetooth Audio support isn't fully stable yet, at least there are some bugs reported in that department (5959, 7815 )

Hi there twaelti, thanks for replaying.

I'm just 87% sure that the bluetooth earpiece (Plantronics 925) worked properly yesterday before installing recaller but I am 100% sure about the bt headset disconnected immediately after recaller's installation though.

Also, I remember that yesterday, double-tapping the answer-call button on the earpiece did redial to the last outgoing call as it should function but now it doesn't function at all.

What does BT class 420404 mean? Do I have to buy and read the BT specification in order to get this information? I'm in the middle of something important and I don't have time to hack Linus Trovalds code, as elegant as it may be, in order to understand this...

My earpiece acts like headphones, I can't hear the phone ringing when it is connected. I updated the phone to the latest software version and still the earpiece doesn't behave like it should.

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks.

I have the same issue with my BT earpiece. I read on another thread that this is normal which I can't believe should be the case.

Maybe there is a config file for the device which you could edit to take away the a2dp ability from the headset? It is annoying as I listen to podcasts on my way to work through the 3.5mm jack into my head unit but can't even have the BT earpiece turned on as it takes over all the audio.

I was hoping the latet update (3.2010.02-8.002) will fix this, but it didn't.
