I have a (i think) similiar problem.
Don't know how to explain it properly so i use an example:
In Conversations I open a saved Conversation from ICQ, the task says "Chat-Sarah". Now when i'm in a conversation (ICQ running) it just says "Chat-84...( the Contacts ICQ number).
So when i have multiple chats running i can't see which task belongs to which Contact from the Dashboard.
Choosing Nicknames first in Contact List didn't help.

You receive message, first you see yellow window with Author name and part of text ... then yellow window is minimazing into the task manager, and there you see again Author name - part of text ... you click on it, and you are in conversations.
But why should I see in that yellow windows: 12564188@jabber.com: Hi, how are you? instead Jack: Hi, how are you?
Isn't possible to view first and second name || nick || or at last ID?
It is quite unlogical, when i had Jack in contacts, and when I receive message, i see some ID, which is telling nothing.
Thank you for some solution!
