Maybe the topic has been discussed before but i did not find it.

How do you transfert any file via bluetooth... it seems to be impossible....

You can just share files that applications let you share like pictures or videos...

am i right, if i am, it really s*cks and should be fixed in the next version of maemo

Yeah, reception via BT seems to be implemented in a strange way. Sending picture files works fine, but sending contacts files (.vcf) fails with an 'out of space' error. All of this should be handled the same way (reception of file), but it doesn't. There is an option to 'open' the file after reception, and _that_ is where any filetype-dependent handling should be implemented - not in the actual file reception. It looks like it's done in the latter, unfortunately.

I tried petrovich to send contact info to my carkit (citroen c4 picasso bluetooth carkit),
but unfortunately that does not work.

The device details of the carkit as shown by the n900 are

Device type: Hands-free
Supported Profiles: HFP, HSP, OPP

My laptop bluetooth connection is shown as type Computer and OPP as the only supported profile.

When I try to send a contact. card with petrovich via bluetooth I get a list of devices to send the file to. It shows several other phones in the neigbourhood, my laptop, but not the carkit!

How come? The carkit supports OPP so it should show up as a device to send flles to, shouldn't it?

Answering calls and talking via the carkit works fine though!
