I am having prolems connecting to n900 with ssh over wifi.

Was working fine last night, no new apps added or updates.

I can ping ok, but get network error connection refused from putty and winscp on vista. I have tried sshd restart and re-boot, niether worked. Any suggestions?

Did you check that the network settings are correct? On both: your PC and the N900. Try also checking the route definitions on both devices. I had sometimes the problem on N900 that default route was not set correctly and therefore no connection could be made.

This implies you're attempting to connect to a device which is on, but isn't listening for ssh connections.
  • Are you sure you got the right IP address for the N900? Mine always seems to get a different address each time from my home router & I sometimes end up trying to ssh into the wrong device.
  • Can you show the output of:
    Code:
    netstat -ltn
    from an xterm?

Pinging/sshing PC from N900 helps for me. I think it is a route problem, so you first need to send some data over from N900, then route is established for incoming connections too.

If it was a route problem, I wouldn't expect to be able to ping the N900 from a PC like he says he can do?
