my pc's running on win 7 64bit. couldnt flash either firmware or eMMC. so i used the virtual xp mode to do the deed. the firmware got flashed on my n900 while the eMMC went down another route. the process stopped at the line "booting into flash mode........ suitable usb device not found, waiting" and the 5-dot progress bar freezed. had tried it couples of times. still cant get it to work. it's driving me nuts. could u guys tell what i did wrong. many thx!!!!

I don't think you did anything wrong - I had exactly the same issue when I tried reflashing the eMMC. I ended up using a bootable Linux CD and flashing it from there (where it worked first time). Some people seem to have had success by persistence - keep retrying and eventually it works.
