I don't believe there is at the moment. (For those who don't know, see top of http://www.developershome.com/sms/sm...=basicConcepts for an explanation of SMS Validity Period).
It doesn't seem to be mentioned in bugs.maemo.org so maybe someone could add it as an enhancement request.
