I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me how the n900 screen compares to the motorola droid. A friend of mine has the droid and showed me an e-reader and I was total blown away with the clarity of the screen. I have never owned a cell/smart phone and this will be my first so I was just looking for a little in put of comparison of screens.

Thanks

I agree about the Droid, since using one right now. Screen is amazing, but the d-pad forces thumb stretching on the right. Nice with VK though compared to 3.2" G1. KB is worse that G1's though.

Sure hope the screen on N900 is this nice. Still says 12/10 on Dell site for my order. Droid needs to go back around then, but I will probably take back sooner, since getting used to the great 3G- wish Tmo was this good where I live.

BTW, Motorola must not have added vid drivers, because the video performance is not much better than G1. Same aspect problems and videos that do not play and no scaling for widescreen unless native resolution. Sound quality through headphones is also no where near as good as G1.

Typing this on Droid has made my thumbs tired. Weak KB.

I want to crop some photos and keep them on my N900 using the exact resolution of the screen. To do this I need to know the exact pixel density.

Raising this thread from the dead to ask about the screen some more. I want to know from where people are getting this 267 ppi figure. Nokia's web site for the N900 does not state ppi. Clearly it's around 260-270 based on a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 3.5 inch diagonal display, and some basic trigonometry, but I do not see an exact ppi figure quoted from Nokia.

I did find one source from Nokia that says the N900 is actually 265 ppi just like the Droid (read the PDF linked). I am going out on a limb and saying that they are probably the same screen.
