This may be rather self-serving but the national trust (UK charity running various historic houses, forests, moors) recently launched an iPhone app to locate places to visit and provide various info about those places etc - The application's really good for anyone outdoors-y or interested in historic sites other than the minor small flaw of only being available on the iPhone, however theyre apparently open to suggestions for other platforms to develop for.
While this is only a direct benefit to UK users, any votes for the below suggestion (basically asking for ports to all major smartphones) would be welcome, ideally with a comment being left specifically supporting Maemo - It'd be great to see this handy application available to a much wider audience, as well as generally seeing more Maemo development outside of this community:
