I've used Evince to read short 5-10 page PDFs pretty regularly and it has always worked great. I have some text books in .pdf format that I'm now working on that are quite a bit larger, around 400 pages or so and about 4MB. At first it worked fine, but as I got further into the book Evince started crashing regularly. I figured the PDF was just too large, so I split it up by chapter and got the file size down to just under 1MB, but now Evince crashes just opening the smaller file. Any idea what is going on and how I might either "fix" Evince or an alternative way to use the PDFs on my N800.

Maybe it's something on a specific page that crashes it? Not that I could help even if that was the case, but maybe someone else can chime in.

Thanks for the suggestion luca, but it doesn't seem to be crashing in the same place on any document. The big document seems to be able to be open for a couple of minutes, and then randomly crashes no matter what page I'm on, and even if I'm not actively interacting with the document. The smaller sub chapters I created won't even load at all though, and I've tried 4 different files.

Anyone else have other thoughts?
