Hi guys,

I've just got an N900 and I'm a bit baffled by the contact list in the phone list.

I note when I hit 'select contact' I get the list of contacts as expected. I get a bunch of icons down the right side (the little blue guy), with images where I have actual photos for contacts.

What I /don't/ see though is the 'source' for that contact - ie, whether it is Skype or mobile or Gtalk or whatever. I /do/ get that in the 'recently called' list that comes up when I hit phone though, or change to the recently called contacts list mode.

I find this really confusing and I'm just wondering if I'm missing an option to make the default full contact list show the appropriate source icon?

N900 contact list does not discriminate by source - it treats all the contacts equal. Further, you can merge multiple contacts so showing an icon for where they come from wouldn't be really beneficial. However, when your availability is set to online, you will be able to see a small icon indicating the status of your online contacts.

If you, however, want to filter your contacts by a specific service, you can do so by selecting 'Groups' from the menu of the Contact application.

Yeh, I realised pretty much as I hit 'submit' that the idea is to do away with the multiple-contact-entries-per-person and integrate them all into a single contact. I guess i just find it confusing coming from the old school of contact lists. I still think its a weird omission to leave out of the contacts listing (for contacts that are one type or the other), simply because it's obviously aware of what those contact 'types' are anyway and it would be trivial to display them.

Thanks for the reply!
