Hello,
I wanted to know if it is possible to simulate a Fn key (for example for htop) in the terminal using the builtin keyboard (i am using a bt keyboard so far).
Google and forum search has been no help.
Thanks!

It is possible if you change the keymap to have some key combinations generate the required Fn keys. One problem is that some keys (F4,F6,F7,F8) have a meaning in maemo (full screen, menu, etc.) so they won't get to the program running in xterm anyway.

It is also possible using the bottom shortcuts bar.

@Ronaldo: that only does numbers not F1-F10 and the like...

@Matan: just tried with a bt keyboard and your right. hadn't thought of that! makes all kinds of console tools useless...
Thanks for the idea of adding some keys in gconf, I'll use it even though for some apps, like hte, it won't really help (i need too many keys).
Well, I guess I'll have to patch it to use something else...

btw, I have been trying to use your hebrew keyboard layouts but they seem to screw up shift selecting in some apps like conboy, do you know of this? is it fixable?

thanks!!

If you add more keys to the xterm bar then there is space, then extras will go to a popup menu.

I did not hear of any "shift selecting" problem with the hebrew keymap, and I do not understand what it means.

Well, adding keys to the terminal doesn't help... it seems that the keys aren't sent to the terminal but to the window, which means that the same thing happens as using a bt keyboard.

With regards to the keyboard, when i hold shift and use the arrow keys in (atleast) conboy it doesn't select the text. I'll try again later with a different layout and see if it happens again.

Thanks for your help!
