Hello, my name is David.

Couple days ago, I was re-flashing my N900 with Nokia Software Updater but in the middle of the process there was a problem.

A connection between my PC and N900 was lost. NSU told me to remove battery, wait for couple of seconds, put in the USB cable and then put the battery in. No luck...

I'm using Windows 7 x64 but I've flashed my N900 couple of times before on this computer without any problem using this manual:

Now, when I'm trying to flash it with Flasher 3.5, all the response I'm getting from my friend N900 is just a yellow light while connection it to my PC. Just for a millisecond. PC doesn't show me anything new.

I thought that battery was drained and asked my friend to recharge it for me (not sure if he did actually recharge it). Today I tried again. All the same.

Is there any way out to help my N900. Without it I'm like being without hands.

Thanks in advance, David.

When you connect it to the PC, does it go into a loop with the yellow light just coming on briefly, the phone vibrating, then switching off again repeatedly? If so, the battery is dead and will need recharging first (some have reported success with just leaving the N900 plugged in - eventually it picks up enough charge to drop out of the loop and start charging properly, but it's quicker and easier to charge it externally or in another phone).

No vibration, no switching, just this yellow light for a millisecond while connecting. Nothing more.

It's may still be a completely flat battery (unable to even get as far as vibrating). I'd check with your friend whether he did actually recharge it first.

Otherwise, the only thing i can think of is that the initial bootloader may be corrupted. In that case, you could try following the cold flash instructions here (or here, but I'm not sure if those are just for the developer version of the N900).

Thank you for the reply.

I'll do as you advised.

Screw you NSU!
