Could anyone tell me how the apps get started at startup? I.e.

/usr/bin/image-viewer
/usr/bin/modest
/usr/bin/mediaplayer
/usr/bin/Calendar

They are all started automatically after my device has booted. But I can't seem to find how / where they are booted from. I've checked /etc/event.d but nothing there.

They get started ("preloaded") for you by hildon-desktop, thanks to maemo-launcher. Look in /usr/share/applications/hildon for desktop files containing "X-Maemo-Prestarted".

camera-ui.dekstop does not have this keyword, yet camera-ui is started on boot. What starts it?
