Today I made a small tour with my motorbike and the N900 in my jacket. After a while a friend called me to meet. So I thought I'll try the Maps application to get the shortest way to him.
Since I was in the countryside (south bavaria), there was no 3g. My N900 was not even able to find my position even with sun and a blue sky (except the invisible ash cloud). Anyway, that's not my question.
Even if my position could be found: Finding a city/street with the N900 needs an internet connection. Why??? Is there a way to download this information to my phone? (The Symbian phones can do everything offline).
Thanks for the help.
