Hi, I have a problem with push email. I added a hotmail account to nokia messaging and am quite sure i configured it correctly but for some reason PUSH is not working. I checked manually by pressing send and receive and email eventually came in but if I leave my phone i would never know I received an email. I'm not cconnected viia WLAN I'm on 3g.

I also went to settings and set use any available connection and update every 5 mins but still to no avail.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

I don't think Hotmail supports Push, you can only set the N900 to check emails as often as you want. Push mail depends on the server to "send" the mails over to the device.

well ok at least I want it to update every 5 mins but its not. it only updated when I manually open the email application and press send or receive. Clearly there must be something wrong.

Well this is why Nokia Messaging is there.
This is a push mail service that fetches mail from non push mail mailsevers and then push it to a nokia device.

At least this is how it should work.
For my this doesn't work either. I have a pop account and gmail account configured in my Nokia messaging account. I can see them both on my N900, but nothing gets pushed.

I hope someone can tell us what we might haved missed when configuring our accounts.

I switched to push email yesterday and it works fine for me.
Add new account, click next, click provider, select "Nokia Messaging" and enter your account details...

I have three IMAP-accounts, my workmate had one gmail-account, but the added "Nokia Messaging"-account did not appear
and therefore no push email, any suggestions?

Push mail is really great, because mails will be pushed almost instanteneously to your N900, instead polling them every 30 mins or so.

Edit:After adding "Nokia Messaging", disable "Automatic Update"
