This is something that has only become an issue in the past few days - previously it was fine.

When I open a new webpage in the browser, it will just sit there with the little thing in the address bar going from right to left and back again, and fail to load the page (ie. it doesn't get to the stage where it actually starts loading the page). Sometimes the page will eventually load, after a very long time; sometimes it'll just stay stuck for ever; sometimes I get a message "MicroB can't find the server at www......".

The problem will persist until I shut down the web application and reopen it. Then, it will work fine for perhaps the first three or four pages I open, but after that, back to the same problem of getting stuck.

I seem to get the same problem using the Firefox browser instead of the native one.

As far as I can tell it only seems to happen when I am connecting via my mobile operator (3UK) - not when I'm on wifi.

That would seem to suggest that the problem is with my network operator but I've tried my SIM in another phone and all seems to be working fine - no problems loading webpages there.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here?

I've even tried reflashing the phone in case I'd somehow messed up some settings somewhere but this hasn't made any difference.

I had a similar problem, got vodafone to rectify it. wifi worked fine, ISP APN that I was on was causing problems. A different APN setting with the same provider had no issues, but my Mobile package billing was with the original APN. second one would cost me alot.

The mobile operator must have change your settings, they probably change you dns or add filters on your traffic. You have to contact them.
Did it ever get redirected to another page intermittently. If it did recorded it and tell them. It will give a good technician to find the cause of your problems.

Also insist it is not the phone that it is not the problem. Try a prepay sim to test out the 3G on your phone to proof it to them.

Hmm thanks. I can predict that getting 3 to actually deal with sorting this out is going to be a nightmare. What do I need to try and get them to do? Change me to a different APN?

The other day I was trying to see if I could successfully use my N900 tethered to my mac (not very successfully) - might this be related in some way?

edit - just seen this: http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showthread.php?t=103254

hopefully it is a temporary network problem (although that doesn't explain why it seemed fine on my other phone)
