Apparently, the reason that the N900 doesn't have the maps they were advertising is because the function was already available in their Symbian phones, they just needed to remove the payment system. For Maemo, they would have to develop the program again.

Can't remember where I read that...

It's probably the advert that talks about free voice navigation on Ovi Maps. I notice the smallprint on screen says "smartphones only", or similar. Now someone needs to argue as to whether an N900 is a smartphone or not.
