Russell,
All the apps going on one page is a feature of PR1.2. You can also rearrange the order they appear in if you tap and hold.
Reading up on the new features would have saved a lot of typing!
I tried to update my N900 to the new 1.2 firware, and after one thing after another, and now all my applications are in the same tab, and no longer under "More" they now appear with Web, Calendar, Settings, Photos etc.
Im not sure if this is caused by Restore from backup, or the new update.
What I did:
I saw the message about the update, tried updating, then it said must do it via PC Suite, so I did that.
Also did a backup there and then.
It downloaded the update via pc, and then said it was already installed which was weird.
I then reinstalled the update, as it was an option, so I thought why not.
I then realised during the update (after researching on google) that the update that was being reinstalled was the old update and not the new one which had just been released.
Then I think (Cant quite remember) that a message said something about having to restore settings etc from backup, so I did (from the one done before the update.
Then tried to restore,
Then it came up saying something was conflicting, and do I want to rename, I said rename. (Had no idea what file, and what to do, really as it didnt say)
Then I noticed my desktop was all screwed. I then redid the Restore from backup, and said DONT rename. Hopefully this has not messed anything up.
Also a message about some skype profile on the device being newer than in the backup, I just said restore from backup, and this time it actually said what file it was talking about.
Now it gets confusing, not sure if the apps thing got screwed after the restore, or after the 1.2 update.
Then I finally managed to update to the new 1.2 version.
Sooooo... (if your still with me hopefully, sorry for boring you!)
now all the apps are STILL on the same page, and im wondering if maybe I got confused, and the 1.2 update caused the apps to go onto the same page, and not the fact that I used the restore.
I did the restore thing a number of times during the whole process, so am getting confused. Hard reset could be an option, but it looks complicated, and worries me with regards to warranty etc, as it involves flashing as fair as I can see?
Any ideas?
Very sorry for the long message, but I thought I should be as detailed as possible.
Thanks for any help you can offer,
Russell
