I had PR 1.1.1 (global) installed. Today I
- ran a backup
- reflashed firmware & emmc (no reboot)
- ran a restore

After the restore device was working nicely except
- My "mail for exchange" account with gmail, used for calendar only was unable to connect to gmail
- My "nokia messaging" email account was continually notifying me of the same emails over and over again every few minutes

I eventually decided to delete both accounts and recreate. Right now I'm focussin on email as I'll likely use "erming" for calendar.

However on multiple attempts the initial sync appears to hang, and if interrupted the inbox is incomplete, and a send/receive doesn't seem to bring it in sync

network is fine... ideas? Anyone else getting issues with 1.2?

I'm also noticing that sometimes (I think if I don't reboot) I get an error

Nokia Messaging account to forward e-mail to this device already exists.
- Add this address to aco****
- create seperate mailbox

Not clear which to choose. If I go for former I fail with an incorrect password, yet the password is correct, and I can login to nokia messaging website, and my actual gmail account with it just fine........

unfortunately the email widget installed on 1.2 doesn't seem to work with nokia messaging! I also get the constant email reminder even if i've read or deleted the email. Although that only seems to happen when I have outlook on the pc open at the same time.

Ok, tried many times to create new account, initial sync hung, tried killing/resuming.

Each time the notifications continue. Closer examinations shows the mbox mail be constantly emptying then refilling.

I'm now going to try resetting my account on the website and see if that helps.

I smell a rapid 1.2.1 bug-fix coming :/

All my Desktop Contacts disappear and must be re-added after sync with MS Outlook 2007 over BT.

What surprised me was that I even went the step of doing a complete clean reflash, to avoid exactly these kind of "funny" problems. Ok I did restore a backup, but figured that should be clean/tested.

Have now emptied my gmail inbox & managed to get an initial sync with 2 items in inbox setup clean.

Moved a further 100 back and after 15 mins it's still thinking about it -- looks like the updates are batched in some way. I'm not though seeing the inbox empty any more which is good. This speed of refresh after a bulk move (2500+ messages) may also be caused by issues in the nokia messaging backend... but I'm sure there's something quite buggy here.

It does seem as if the sync update is now batched -- it updating perhaps 10 messages at a time , or maybe it's just slow.

I'm also unclear how to specify the threshold -- I think by default only the last few days are synced, but the settings are greyed out.

... I didn't even notice the Nokia Messaging problems till I read your message ... but for me (OTA upgade) Nokia Messaging disappeared completely ... was easy enough to add back though, and appears to have synched without any trouble ...

... scuse the typing, am trying to get used to the new way the keyboard works!

Just sent myself an email, and despite an always-on connection "send/receive soonest" seemed to take 6-7 mins to arrive - it's always been near instant before

Really does seem quite broken -- question is whether it is
a) A sync status corruption issue with my online nokia messaging account
b) A serious bug in the PR 1.2 client.

Other than Emma's account disappearing, anyone else getting issues?

Also what criteria is use to define how many messages are left on device -- all the local settings are greyed out & there's no information I could find on the web site

Ok it seems to have stabilised now - with only new items syncing. I guess I'll just try leaving it now. Maybe it's finally working per spec.

is it 100 mails/30 days or similar (100 mails is about err <2 days for me right now!) - can this be changed?

Or do I need to use imap/mfe to get this flexibility?
