..Or at least i think thats my issue.

I cannot update my N900 to PR1.2 because everythign i run the updater it just crashes (i can only assume its because im on x64) iv tried everything from safe mode, compatability mode, uninstalling reinstalling, restarting my phone the lot.

is there any other way to get up to 1.2?

i think that windows x64 comes from hell too

but you didnt specify what version of windows you are using (xp, vista, seven?)

There is ALWAYS another option: Download UBUNTU (gnu/linux)

The Live CD version doesnt need to be installed, it can run directly on a burned cdrom, and lets you flash the n900 with no-problems

I updated to pr1.2 smoothly using Windows 7 x64 and Nokia Software Updated (NSU). I had to update NSU firstly, though.

I had pr1.1.1 without overclocking nor tweaks.

I'd go with Ubuntu Live-CD as mentioned by posters above me.
But, have you redownloaded and reinstalled flasher?

Sorted i didnt realise i could update OTA haha
