whenever i tried to update my nokia n900 from application manager after few minutes it says "catalogue packages missing check details" and also i cannot download any application its says "catalogue packages not found" give me the solution of this plz help

Do you use HAM (Hildon Application Manager)?
Did you then check 'Details'?
Did you check your repo list for disabled or mis-spelled repository entries?
Did you recently changed or added some repositories?

1st ans: No i didnt use HAM, i only checked log detail, i can see there hildon application manager, and i dont know how to use it, need help.
2 ans: Yes i checked the DETAILS and all i saw over there all the repositories is in red color and some repositories says "connect() time out" and some repositories says "404 not found", need help.
3 ans. Yes i check the repositories list and i found every spelled right and all repositories enabled. need help
4 ans. No recent i didnt changed anything, but i added some repositories, extra-devel, extra-testing, now what should i do? help plz

which network provider are you with? some providers (such as vodafone uk) block updates on thier pre-installed software

currently i am living india, and i am using vodafone normal gprs connetion, should i change my connetion or what else should i do? plz help

To have a complete error, please post the output of [sudo gainroot
apt-get update[/code]You have to have rootsh installed for that.

what i understand from ur post that first i have to do to x-terminal and write [sudo gainroot apt-get update[/code], what does the code mean?? i am preety much nervous of doing this, plz help me

some one tell me in google that i should type [sudo gainroot rm -f /var/lib/apt/lists/ * app-get update] is that correct??? what should i do?? give me the detail..what to do and how to do? plz plz help

Before removing your source list, just use the

Code:
sudo apt-get update
The rm -f command is used to ReMove a file (forced, because the -f parameter is being used).

But like I said, use the apt-get code first and paste the output here.

ok right i am not near to my nokia n900, when i ll get free then i will type that thing in my x termina which u have gave and then i will post the ouput here, and thank you very very much for helping me
