Hi everyone,

So today morning i downloaded the new PR 1.2 OTA by going to my apps and downloading it. It downloaded fine and when the phone switched off and restarted the NOKIA logo came up and it said

"Installing software update.
Please do not interrupt"

the status bar showed it doing something with the percentage bar going up to 50% then it shut down and now when ever the phone turns back on its stuck on - "Installing software update.
Please do not interrupt". Please advise me on what i should do?

I also created a backup on my internal storage and on my memory card before i updated - Will this backup have all my contacts? Please help!!!

The back up will have all your contacts. How long has this been going on? Did you interrupt the installation process?

No i did not interrupt the installation process. When the phone switched off after the automatic restart i left it for an hour letting it do its thing but nothing happened. So i pressed the power on button and thats when this started happening.

Have a look at my posts here (same issue - sort of - but I had added trouble with custom kernel:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=52936

I had to reflash the device (just rootfs re-flash NOT eMMC)

Backup should restore everything, but if you just reflash the OS your contacts etc should still be there, just restore the backup you made once you are done re-flashing and re-install your apps.

Guide to re-flashing is here:

http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_firmware

Just follow the instructions for reflashing rootfs and everything should be fine

Tried that still nothing - its still on the nokia logo with it saying Installing software update. Please do not interrupt.

Ok,

Im must be missin something very simple....

Everyone seems to have the update, other than me...

I cant find it anywhere... An id rather do it OAW, than via a PC if possible

Can it be done like this, and why cant i find it in apps, etc etc...
