So here is what happend:

I wanted to install autodisconnect from extras-testing. Before that I removed the autodisconect script I am running for some months. So I moved the sh file from /etc/network/if-up.d/autodisconnect to somewhere else, then i killed the autodisconnect script.
Then I realized that my wlan won't connect anymore. So I thought I should reboot my device. When I pressed the power button the device was off immediately. When I press the power button now the LED and screen turn white as usual but stay on for about 10sec. after that the phone goes off again. I already removed the battery.

Damn, what have I done. root is not for everyone I guess

How can I get my N900 working again?
So many apps and data is on the device. Luckily I got a backup from PR1.2 update. Do I have to reflash?

I'm afraid you'll have to do a full reflash to get it back up and running again. That is including the eMMC. Otherwise you might be running into instability and meet the path of infinity looping reboot.

in my experience u can still have ur apps and everything back since did had a backup saved and to get into ur phone u only do reflashing WITHOUT the emmc that will only erase the profiled sttings and apps but not ur MYDOCS folder whre ur backup is saved so from there u can get ur stuff back! got it?lol

So When I just flash this image: RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1.203.1_PR_COMBINED_203_ARM.bin
then it will flash rootfs but not /home/user and /home/user/MyDocs? That would keep apps working with my settings after reinstall, right?

Yeah, everything in /home/user is preserved. Some apps might loose settings though, if they save it somewhere else obivously.

Ok guys. thanks so far.
I did reflash and got the device booting again.
What are the steps necessary to do now to get it to the state before it broke down. As I still have ~/MyDocs and ~/ intact do I have to reinstall every app now and hope that they use the old settings?
Or can I run my backup now because my homescreens are gone for example.
