Hi, could anyone tell me why the Ovi Store has to go through the browser and is not it's own application on the device. It seems a bit counter-intuitive if you ask me.

Just wild guess would be: because of payment system on some apps.

That's not a good guess IMO, because OVi Store on Symbian has all that and it's a stand-alone app.. :/

on my s60 device it's not.

Ovi Store via web was probably easier for them to implement since it already exists...
