i would like to have such a feature on the n900 by pressing the power button if we could access such menu it would be awesome when placed in the car .. the phone could be easily used in car as yesterday i was going to hit my car in the tree..

eitama's working on an application called Horizontal-Call. It's basically just for calling, and it's still in -devel, but it's worth a read:

Please hang up and drive. If the call is that important, please pull over and then call the person back.
