I know, I know, you can access email through the browser...but I like the e-mail client sometimes.

I searched for a way to do this on the forum, but came up empty handed. Hope this helps at least 1 person.

Went into my e-mail access through a web page for my domain and did the following.

Settings -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP -> IMAP access -> Enable IMAP -> Click "Configuration Instructions" -> From the list of e-mail clients Select "Other*" to get additional instructions. (for ease of use, I have copied it below and edited it for Google Apps e-mail users)

-----
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - requires SSL: imap.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 993
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 465 or 587
Account Name: your full email address (including @your_domain.com)
Email Address: username@your_domain.com
Password: your Google Apps password

-----
Now: On the N900

Tap: New Account -> Next ->
Region: Where you at?
Service Provider: Gmail
Account Title: Whatever you want
Tap: Next
Name: your name/nickname
Username: your full email address (including @your_domain.com)
Password: Figure that out!
Email Address: your full email address (including @your_domain.com)
Tap: Next
Tap: Finish

You should now have access to your Google Apps email account!! Woohooo!

p.s. to handle the "to large an inbox" issue. I archived what I am not working on right now, so my inbox is smaller. It is a work around for me and it works fine for now.

Thanks @brianchen0321 for pointing out an easier way.

Sorry i don't get it, why don't you just select "Gmail" as the Service Provider?
is there anything different between this two setting?

@ brianchen0321 Good catch... I just did it with the Other account, didn't think it would work with the Gmail type...

I tested with the gmail account type, and that has all the appropriate imap/smtp stuff. and it works!

I will edit my above post to use the easier way.

I follow the steps but it doesn't work for me. It keeps saying " User name or password incorrect" but everything is perfect, my user name, the password and myaccount@mydomain.com

is there a different way to configure google apps mail on my n900?

Thanks

In username you have to have myaccount@mydomain.com

Incoming server: imap.gmail.com
Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com

Hope that helps.
