I think the bumper was supposed to be sold with the iPhone 4 from the start...
...but some guy from their marketing came up with a brilliant idea, "Mr. Jobs, how about if we take this attenuator protector part off and sell them separately?? And make them in a dozen different colors??? and sell them for $30 each?!@#"
