Hi, I think I messed something up. Or else it's a big coincidence.

When I now connect via USB to the laptop (I tried 2 laptops, one on Ubuntu Lucid, the other on Win XP) it asks for the connection mode and I select "mass storage". Few seconds later it give a "USB connected" notification. But no drives become available on the laptop.

This happened the first time after installing locate (via the "apt-get install locate" command). I then made 2 symbolic links, one to the /usr/sbin/updatedb and the other to /usr/bin/locate. Both from their /usr/bin/gnu directories as source.

updatedb and locate now works fine but as the title says, the USB exporting of the filesystems is gone.

It might be coincidence but I don't really believe in that anymore

I've done a "lsof ¦ grep MyDocs" and "lsof ¦ grep mmc1" but nothing came back.

Also something I noticed after connecting the first time after the install : trackerd got wild, started to re-index and re-thumbnail all videos and images. Now all is "quiet" ...

of course I tried to reboot my N900 a few times, to no availability. Anyone seen this before ?

Thanks.
