Thanks Frank. recently saw a review for JiokuSpot vs MiFi when a couple of mates went abroad for a week or two. JoikuSpot was crucified i nthe review - might be the reason for the price drop......

JoikuSpot at half price sounds like a good deal. I've used it for several months, having paid full price. It drops out all too frequently, prompting me to close and re-open the connection. However, that's a small problem for something that, for only a one time payment, allows me to tether my notebook computer and see friends' jaws drop. I don't know pricing for MiFi.

joiku is not reliable, the connection keeps dropping and the program keeps crashing - so its only really for emergencies
i used joiku for a bit and gave up and just tethered via usb and DUN for a full stable connection never had that drop really
