I had plugged my flaky BT dongle (it's my 5th one already, they keep getting fried for some reason) and was moving some files from and to my mobiles (not sure if it's related), after a while my little sister came asking me to check what she had written on Skype only then i noticed internet was out, but i checked on the other computers in the house and they still had it, I tried acessing the router from my machine and couldn't, I opened the network status for the connection in question and the first tab seems ok but when i go tothe second tab all the values are empty, trying to open the Network Connecttions window fails silently most of the times but if i try switching to it in an already open Explorer window it freezes.
It's not a hardware issue, i have multiboot in my desktop machine and none of the other OS's have any network issues.
I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network card witt the Device Manager both with and without booting into safe mode.
Can any of you help me figure out how to fix this please? That WinXP install is the one where i do most of my desktop work
