hay guys, sorry if this has been asked loads of times,
however i have a question regarding dependancies (sp??)
for example i have just tried to install healthcheck from the app manager, and it says

"unable to install 'healthcheck' some application packages requiredfor the installion are missing"

then when i click details it says

"unable to install healtcheck
aplication packages missing: pluseaudio-utils
libqt4-test (>=4.6)
libqt4-script (>=4.6.2-git20100224-0maemo1+0m5)"

whats the correct corse of action to resolve this,

also i thought (thou am probably wrong) that apps pull all files it requires from the cataloges when you install it??

cheers for any help,
snake

I never remember the ">" and "<" meaning.. It say it is newer or older than.

You could try uninstall with "apt-get remove libqt4-test libqt4-script" and then try healthcheck again.. This could however break other programs using this version.

Check your repository catalog. pulseaudio-utils is installed from the Maemo 5 device SSU repository. Maybe this is disabled?

Using maemo.org/packages you can find out many informations about the packages which may help to find root cause of your problem.

http://wiki.maemo.org/Extras-devel
"This is a repository for developers and regular contributors of specific software projects. If you want to play with extras-devel software you need to be prepared to feel some pain sooner or later. "

In retrospective manner i would like to ask you question. Were you prepared?

"Don't play with Extras-devel if you haven't backed up your data or aren't prepared to re-flash your device."

Flash your device and try to install healtcheck.

while i under stand the risks of using packages from extras devel, surly flashing is the final option, i know im still a noob so to speak, but the only way to learn is by doing, so saying flash the device isnt the way to help learn? if it is the only option then fairenough, and please dont take it im blasting you, however i genuinly want to learn my way around linux, for this reason im now duel booting unbuntu on my lapton!! thanks snake
