it said dpkg parse error, in file /var/lib/info/available near line 1655 package libgtk2.0-0 : missing version

happened when autoremove or install apps at the end

pls help, many thx

Please try the following:
Code:
sudo gainroot
dpkg --forget-old-unavail
dpkg --clear-avail
apt-get update

As above I was getting a returned error everytime and as a newby to linux was pretty stuck.. tried the above commands and wooooosh perfect I unpacked the files to install chromium and all is working just fine so thanks michaaa62
