ok my internal memory only has 1GB left so i bought a PNY 32GB class 10 micro sd card.

And i tried to put 3GB of vids in the .video file and it only stopped at 1GB becuz it had used all the memory, as in all the internal memory WTF!

My N900 in the systems settings reconqizes i have 29.81GB on the memory card & it also lists the file name for the memory card "memory card" but in mass storage mode i do not see a file named memory card.

So is this suppose to happen?
I thought you put that in there then automaticly it reads the data you put on it & or automaticly reformats the phone which when i turned the phone on i left it alone for 30 minutes figuring if it does reformat or whatever that would be enough time.

How do i get data on the card?

i just put a tiny video in that disk j drive to see if it is the memory card.
also the drive has a ".modest" in it so im sure its related to the N900.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

It is located outside of the N900 & into its own drive.

i have a windows XP & anybody having the same non - issue hopefully you found this using google and it helps you.

P.S. this sites search engine is like trying to find a needle in a hoarders house.

* run down for win XP users just go to my computer then go to the removable disk j and click that it should have a file names .modest but dont click modest just start dropping your vids, pix & what have you.

Your memory card should come up named according to the label on the FAT32 filesystem. You can check or change that label using "mlabel" on the N900, commands as described here and your memory card should normally be drive e: as far as mtools is concerned.

For completeness:

Code:
maemo:~# mlabel -s b:
 Volume label is Nokia N900
maemo:~# mlabel -s e:
 Volume label is N900_SD

maemo:~# mlabel b:N900eMMC
maemo:~# mlabel e:N900microSD

maemo:~# mlabel -s b:
 Volume label is N900eMMC (abbr=N900EMMC )
maemo:~# mlabel -s e:
 Volume label is N900microSD (abbr=N900MICROSD)
