im a bit confused, with the reflashing thing... cause im in italy i bought the n900.... i dont know with which firmware comes.. ... so i had a problem and reflashed it with the global firmware... BIG MISTAKE... the phone now wont read the Sim card .... soo ... which firmware should i use to reflash it ....
PS: is it possible to downgrade the firmware without any consequences ... i mean is it bad for the device ??

You need the global firmware.
Your problem is that you've probably installed an older one, which is no longer compatible with the firmware used by the GSM chip after having been on the current version.
Simply make sure you're using the most up-to-date global firmware, and you should be fine.

so... can u plz tell me which one is the most recent. .. because in the firmware download page ... there are tons of firmware i though i updated it! ... but in fact i downgraded it. ... i really dont know... the one i used was "RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM" .... is this the correct one?

Wrong!! The latest global firmware file is RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin.

using nokia software updater should fix your problem 2 .
