Greetings:

I just tested the new firmware surfing different sites.

As I stated before when I go to the Maemo site, everything OK.

But when want to go to the maemo garage site, a HTTPS site, Opera
just stalls and does not load.

So, I tested my theory and when I go to Yahoo, and want to login into my mail, again a HTTPS site, same stalling, tried my banking site same, etc.

So is this a new firmware issue, or an Opera issue?

Ok, now can someone tell how I can load my programs if I can't go to Maemo Garage site?

I'm sweatin here!!!!

Regards Robert

Don t worry what you describe sounds so bad that if confirmed, we should see an update to the update pretty soon.

Did you double-check your time settings? If they're off, SSL will fail.

Greetings:

I'm not worried, but doesn't someone in the company test these things before a new firmware is released.

Or do they just make us users do the quality control for them.

Oh, I almost forgot, I did do a backup on July 5 with old firmware, now with the new firmware it does not read the file.

Again, would it be too much to ask to have tested this before.

I had this issue with the previous version of firmware, it was fixed by a reboot, oddly enough...

A lot of the issues I see (missing text boxes in Opera etc) appears to be due to restoring from a backup. I installed the new firmware and started from scratch, so I don't see a lot of the problems. I think the backups introduce some issues, which Nokia should have taken care of, but obviously didn't.

I am also experiencing the HTTPS problem.

My sites do have a REDIRECT from the site on HTTP (port 80) to the site on HTTPS (port 443), Opera on the new firmware is NOT respecting this REDIRECT automatically, it instead displays a "Found 302 The document has moved here (link)" instead of doing the actual redirect.

When I click on the "here", I am linked to the HTTPS page, the certificate is received by the N800, a pop up is presented. After hitting continue the main screensite is presented now under an HTTPS sessions. But after logging in (username, password and captcha) Opera just hangs in there doing nothing.

All what I describe worked perfectly with the prior firmware version. Of course, the web site also works fine with other browsers on other platforms.

Go figure. As said how come could this happen ? !!!!!

Hopefully we get the update to the update ASAP. !

Greetings:

Thankyou very much to the person who mentioned about the Time setting.

My Home City was London England, when tried to change it to Montreal Canada, I could not find it in the list, so the closest City is Quebec, Canada.

Anyways even with this correction, Opera still hangs.

So, can someone tell me how I can download my programs now.

I can't go to maemo garage website.

Regards Robert

the garage site seemed to not work for me also.

I rebooted and tried again but it still looked like it was hung. I left it alone and went to try with my desktop, but before I tried the garage site finally loaded on the IT.

so, maybe the reboot helped, plus waiting a bit..
