I was out in the woods some days ago, and put my n900 in my raincoat pocket. It still managed to get a little wet, and the be getting.
So, any advice?
Any thoughts about what has actually happened with the screen would be nice.
I live in Norway, by the way.

What did u do soon after it got wet???/
things u should do if ur mobile got wet
=================================
1)dont turnoff/on the mobile
2)immediatley remove the battery even if the mobile is powered on
3)wipe out any water thats left on the handset carefully
4)put the battery and the mobile in a jar of rice and keep it there for 12+-15hrs
5)the rice will absorb all the water thats left in the mobile
6)I saw a water test in techradar.com
7)they sprayed the n900 with water fully and they did the same to recover from it
Try doing it...there is a good chance that it will work
you can search n900 water test in youtube to see the video

It does start, but I can't put in my PIN for my SIM. Using the screen lock button a couple of times seems to imply "skip", so the phone boots OK, but is not usable at all.
I mulled it over, and decided not to go with an Android or iPhone instead, so I'm either getting it fixed, or getting a new one. Fixing it would possibly be cheaper, but where do I get a replacement touch screen? I'm reluctant to buy over eBay, etc, as I can't be sure what I'll be getting.
So, any advice?
