I would like a program that is able of both recording and streaming full resolution video from the main camera (preferably with audio as well)

Of course you can't get high framerates, at full resolution in photography modre the aquisition framerate is much lower than regular video recording in close to ideal conditions; my proposal is to use the motion detection already avaible in video codecs/compression and interpolate the frames between to achieve a more tolerable framerate; there will be artifacts due to pushing the motion algorithm further than usual, but even with artifacts it's better than nothing.

Please also try to include all the camera controls (exposure time, sensitivity (the ISO thing), focus etc), even better if we have the option of both letting them be changed automaticly as well as controling them live while shooting.

For streaming please use a good standard (one without patent or licensing issues if possible), same for encoding the recorded video.

Also, it would be nice to have a way to control the resolution and tweened framerate.

I'm talking about using the fcam API to capture the frames, it is an API for acessing the camera hardware not for encoding or streaming video, for the video part another piece of code would be used.

This is a pretty huge request. At this point, you may just want to buy a DSLR.

Pretty much everything necessary has already been created, it should be just a matter of putting the existing parts together. Why do you consider it to be "huge"?

Does it matter? It just seems to be a huge request to me, especially since you offer nothing to help complete it.

Other than what you currently get, what more do you expect out of a cellphone camera?

What i mean is most of the work is already done, so it isn't such a big request.

The camera is much better than on dedicated camera devices from just a few years ago, the crappy face camera on a similar level of quality to "cellphone camera", but calling the main camera with all those MPs and Zeiss optics a "cellphone camera" is an insult; and the N900 isn't a cellphone, it does have a GSM modem but that is just a detail; you don't start calling your SUV a "compass" just 'cause you glued one on the dashboard, do you?
