Hi all!
finally got around to install freOffice from -devel repositories.
Seems that all dependencies installed allright but the freOffice.deb wonīt install... (v 0.3-1)
At first when I was to install it my app.manager said it would take 30 some MB of space, but if try now thereīs only aprox. 425 kB to be installed.
My home directory dropped approx 33 MB after the installation.
Installation ended with an error saying that FreOffice could not be installed.
Anyone got a clue?
Maybe thereīs a way to uninstall the dependencies to get my 30 MBīs to home directory.
Iīm on pr 1.3 - power kernel 42
Thanx

On either app manager, you should be able to view the dpkg and apt-get log (I think it's just the apt-get log, but apt-get uses dpkg, so it logs dpkg errors and such). Just press on the top of the bar where the app name is to get the drop down menu for the app manager you're using, and press the log or 'view log' or whatever button.

So, try installing it again, then if you get an error again, post the log.

Speaking of freoffice, in my eyes the latest version is amazing. I just wrote an essay for one of my college classes today. Entirely on the N900. Can't change the line spacing yet as far as I know, but everything else is great (just have to have stuff like 'tab' and pg_up / pg_down / home / end mapped to your keyboard for extra convenience). All of the older bugs like text being always caps-locked is gone. I just need it to recognize fn+shift+key combinations, on top of just shift+key and fn+key combinations. It was reasonably gentle on battery too. Overall I'm happy with it. Have to do formatting finalizations on a computer, but no other phone comes close. Now all I need is a bluetooth printer or a debian driver for my usb printer and I think usb-hostmode will be mature enough to make printing it work soon.

Thanks! Should have seen that myself actually, but sometimes...

Uninstalled DocsToGo and installed FreOffice OK.
I do have some issues with it, but that does not belong here.
Thank you!

In an earlier thread it was suggested to download freoffice and
install it using --force-all option. I tried it and it worked with dtg
already loaded. I'm not sure if this has negative consequences
on either package. But if the conficit is due to a png file it may not be
a big deal.
