that looks to me like damage control for the rumours about N9 successor. I believe there is one but they cannot afford such publicity right now.

He declares to tweakers.net: " We have no plan B Windows Phone has to succeed"
It remains unclear what will happen when Nokia's Windows Phone devices turn out not to be as successful as Microsoft and Nokia are hoping.
"Plan B is Plan A: making devices with Windows Phone. It HAS to succeed", declares the director of Nokia Netherlands, Sebastiaan Silfhout in the interview with Tweakers.net
Last Wednesday Nokia has announced its first two Windows Phone based devices, the Lumia 710 and the Lumia 800.
"It does not need to succeed with those two devices from the start" according to Van Silfhout. "In 2012 we are going to release many more devices with Windows Phone. We need to see how fast people will pick up Windows Phone."
There for the mobile phone manufacturer will concentrate on making people aware about Windows Phone.
Nokia really needs a big sales success in the Netherlands, reckons Van Silfhout.
"We need to turn the tide and we want to do that with Windows Phone".
The Lumia 800, the first Nokia Windows Phone will be released in six countries, amongst which the Netherlands.
The device will be available in stores from 17th of November onward for the price of Euro 499 incl. VAT. The Lumia 710 will cost Euro 320.

Note that Tweakers.net last week reviewed the N9.
Apart from the usual dead os talk, they were very impressed.

Let's hope people do get aware of Windows Phone soon enough to leave Nokia some juice to return back to plan A+ Maemo 6
