This is my fifth N900 now... Not to sure what I keep doing to them but I get all sorts of errors such as No Sim cards and constant signal drop out.

I have had this phone for about 8 weeks now, started off a bit rocky, the phone was very unstable, quick reflash fixed that for a week or so then I noticed a problem.

My N900 would get very hot if 3g was being used. I mean, it gets very hot. Not slightly warm. Just hot. It will then drain the battery in about 30 minutes from full. The heat seems to be coming from the battery and goes up to the keyboard. If the phone is shut the keyboard gets pretty hot and the screen will also start heating up. But the heat comes from the battery, I am sure of it. Flashed the phone again and the problem is still there.

I sent Nokia an email and they are willing the replace the phone for either: an N8, C7 or another N900. I love the phone since I have had five of them now... I have checked out the specs on the N8 and C7 and they just aren't what I am after. Going back to Symbain isn't something what I really want to do.

What you guys think I should do here?

is it always the same problem you have? i would think you'd been installing a problematic app but a reflash would fix that, i'd also suggest using 2g/3g selection applet to turn off 3g when unused, but given the data intensive nature of modern phones thats crippling your device a lot. the signal drop out may well be a factor, since 3g mode ups its power output until it can get a signal from what i'm aware, but this still seems extreme. going back to symbian would feel like a downgrade to me, but i suppose its up to you in the end. perhaps you could try one more n900, and if you do fry it hopefully nokia has something meego flavoured out by then?

I could see one phone. Perhaps two. But 5 phones leads me to believe the problem is not with the 900 itself.

Nope - This is the first phone that ever has heated up this hot. Other ones have got "warm" which I consider normal. But this one actually gets pretty hot.

Other problems I had are:
LCD Screen Dieing.
No Sim Card errors - Admittedly, that may have been the sim card that the provided refused to replace but gave me new handsets instead until finally giving me a new sim card.
Plastic Facials not securely fitted to the device - I think this one had been dropped before I had it...

So all in all, I have only had one other really faulty phone, and that was the screen...

TBH - I think I will settle with a new N900... The N8 and C7 don't seem to cut it for me.

I used to on my other phones, but this one due to being flashed so many times. I haven't even enabled the other repos. So simple answer. No.

There are about two apps currently installed on the phone ATM as I never got around to installing them again.

The problem only happens when I am on 3G and browsing the net. It will kill the battery in 30 minutes. Even when nothing else is running. I can be sat on Wifi for hours not a problem. Just 3G...

I don't think your account is accurate, frankly. I think you have gotten rid of your N900 for no good reason on multiple occasions. If you want to trade your current N900 for one that doesn't have the problem, send me a PM and I'll consider it.
