Yes. its possible. This is called 'tethering'. I don't know about windows, but this is easily done on Linux (Ubuntu). googling 'tether n900 bluetooth' would help.

btw, Tethering via USB is also possible.

I think you do not need tethering, but something similar to http://www.howtoforge.com/bluetooth_pand_debian_etch
The setup could be simpler if you use static ip addresses instead of dhcp.
In summary you have to set up ip over bt and 'nat' out into the internet.

I am slightly unsure of which direction you wish to connect.

If it's PC->N900->3G->Internet, install the "Bluetooth Dial-Up Networking" on your N900, and tell the PC to use this "modem" to dial the Internet. Both the PC and the N900 can be active at the same time.

If it's N900->PC->whatever->Internet, I think that's probably possible but haven't explored it.

If I understand you correctly, you want to allow your N900 to use your PC's internet connection via BlueTooth... if that's the case, it is definitely possible -- I do this when I'm at work, and it works perfectly once you get it set up.

Read through this thread:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=37710

And see my post at the end of it here for vaguely step-by-step instructions:

http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...0&postcount=11

(I worked it out on a Mac, so some of that may or may not apply, but you should be able to get it working in Windows following the same general principles -- or post back if you're having difficulty and maybe I can help you through it)

anyhow, and the connection switcher started to act wierd, and my phone started to act the same (and slowed 200%...) so i uninstaled all apps needed for that,... i will try to do that some other time, but will shure tell you if i manage to do on Win

Hmm.. well it doesn't create the Dummy Network automatically, so that could be the problem

When you installed the libicd (dummy network) file, in the terminal output it should have detailed the commands you need to enter to create the Dummy Network and enable autoconnect:

Add dummy network
Code:
gconftool-2 -s -t string /system/osso/connectivity/IAP/DUMMY/type DUMMY

gconftool-2 -s -t string /system/osso/connectivity/IAP/DUMMY/name 'Dummy Network'
Make ICD2 autoconnect with
Code:
gconftool-2 -s -t boolean /system/osso/connectivity/IAP/DUMMY/autoconnect true
(note: those commands should be entered all on one line even if the forum makes it look like they're on two lines..)

When you get around to trying again, be sure to enter those commands right after you install the libicd file. Then restart the N900, you should see "Dummy Network" under your list of internet connections.

Hope that works for you!

Yeah, I think maybe 'dummy_iap' gets installed by Maemo-PC-Connectivity. I also have something there called 'devel_adhoc' that I think is a result of getting this to work..

Interestingly, once everything is working on mine, 'dummy_iap' is the internet connection that gets automatically chosen by the connection switcher, not 'Dummy Network'.. however I can't get any of it to work unless I also follow the steps to create 'Dummy Network', so it must be needed somehow. That part is a bit of a mystery to me..

I'm not sure what to say about your issues with connection switcher. I've never had any trouble with it whatsoever, and I really don't know enough about it to suggest what you can do to fix it.. sorry
