Yeah, this is another thread from me in topic "How far can we push it" since I don't know what parts of Maemo 5 are open and what are not. I thought this would get lost in the "Show your 'Epic' Maemo mods"-thread so I'll post it as separate.

So my question is this. We can exchange the background in lock screen but is that it? I'd like to add seconds to the clock and maybe, just maybe, the name of currently playing track. The latter one would be useful if you forget the Media Player/Mediabox/whatever you are using on but not on playing. If there is no track it'd be showing "no tracks playing right now".

So are these minor "mods" possible?

There's already a couple of topics on this.

This one Here is quite an old topic. But there's a more up to date one Here with some pretty good lockscreen modding tips, but it's a little more indepth because it involves editing system files.

Guess we can push it really far. I have seen some really nice mods for the lockscreen at the "Truly epic maemo5 mod'n thread".

is it not possible to entirely replace the lock screen with an open source component? from the looks of it, the lock screen is just an overlay to the lock code screen... I could be completely wrong though, I am talking with zero experience of the internals of Maemo
