Hi,

Wasn't sure where I should fix this into since its like a mix of all the problems one can get at once and make life with/on maemo trickyly disappointing.

I think my mass memory has errors since, since the first time I tried to flash the emmc, it could not complete, always got stuck at 20%, tried following what the forums on this said to no success. Thought I have the wrong flash file but nope, technically its the only one available. Just the other day my media player and photos app could not detect any files, it would prompt "no video/songs/photos..." I searched for any info and had to options, unmount and remount /dev/mmcblk0p1 or flash. The first didn't work so I flashed yesterday. Still, emmc flash stuck at 20% and then, I proceeded to flash the rootfs and worked good. After copying my files back to the phone, 1 by 1, I realised that my .video folder was marked "Folder is read-only". I've tried all ways and haven't succeeded in getting it to be r&w. I've tried to copy folders into it using xterm and they copy but disappear, they are not visible anywhere (also tried the ls -a and they are not visible though a large amount of space is used by .videos) Tried renaming but also failed.

Guys, is this anything to do with a hardware thing? Or is there something wrong am doing...If possible, I would like to get my videos cos I deleted them from the source hence has no other copy elsewhere...any advice please?

Am on 2.6.28.10-power52 and CSSU v21.2011.38-1Tmaemo8.2+thumb1, Flavor - testing
see also below, my output for df -h

Thanks.
Fred.

I have never managed to successfully flash the eMMC. If this is a freshly flashed device anyway, then you won't lose anything by reformatting MyDocs. Can you try that? In File Manager, tap and hold the icon representing your mass storage (usually called "Nokia N900", I think) and select "format".

After flashing?

Copy them off and then format. Your problem sounds like a file system corruption, probably not hardware related.

The thing is, I can't copy my .videos file, and though it shows no files or folders, on the massmem details, it shows over 9GB of my vol is utilised....am concerned copyin will/may not work with my .videos folder
