For only a few of my contacts, it shows the number instead of their name in conversations. Any idea why this is happening?

`killall rtcom-messaging-ui` and it should come back.

There's a minor bug where if you have a number that's very similar to (or the same as) another number, it shows the number instead of the contact. So check that you don't have the number twice. It could also be that you have someone with the same number but a different area/country code. That causes it too apparently?
